The Aryanna Dream Scholarship

Helping young people take the next step toward their dream.

The Aryanna Dream Scholarship was created to help young people pursue the education, training, skills, and creative dreams that matter to them.

Aryanna had dreams of her own, including publishing her poetry and attending esthetician school. Through this scholarship, The Aryanna Frye Foundation hopes to carry a piece of those dreams forward by helping someone else pursue theirs.

Scholarship awards generally range from $1,000 to $2,500, with the number and amount of awards determined by available Foundation funding.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The Aryanna Dream Scholarship is open to eligible young people ages 16 through 25 who reside in the United States and are pursuing, or preparing to pursue, an approved educational or training opportunity.

Eligible paths may include:

  •  College or university education

  •  Vocational or trade school

  •  Professional training

  •  Certification or licensure programs

  •  Other approved educational or career-training opportunities

The scholarship especially welcomes applicants pursuing creative and vocational paths connected to interests that were meaningful to Aryanna, including writing, poetry, photography, art, music, esthetics, cosmetology, skincare, beauty, and related fields. Applicants pursuing other eligible fields are also encouraged to apply.

YOU DO NOT NEED A PERFECT GPA

This scholarship is about more than grades. We want to learn about you, what you dream of doing, what you are doing to pursue that dream, and what receiving a scholarship could help make possible.

Academic information may provide context, but a perfect GPA is not required and academic performance is not intended to be the sole basis for selection.

WHAT CAN THE SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT?

Approved scholarship funds may help with eligible education-related expenses such as:

  •  Tuition and required program fees

  •  Vocational, trade, certification, or licensure program costs

  •  Required books, educational materials, kits, tools, or supplies

  •  Other approved education-related expenses connected to the recipient’s program

When practical, scholarship funds may be paid directly to the approved school, training program, certification or licensure provider, or other approved educational provider.

HOW RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED

Applications are reviewed using consistent charitable selection criteria. The Foundation considers the applicant’s dreams and goals, financial circumstances, and the potential impact of an award, personal story and perseverance, commitment to pursuing the stated goal, and connection to the values the Foundation seeks to encourage.

Financial need is an important consideration, but applicants are not required to meet a rigid low-income threshold.

A NOTE ABOUT YOUR STORY & PRIVACY

Applicants are not required to disclose a mental-health diagnosis, suicide loss, trauma, or other deeply personal medical information in order to be considered. If an experience is important to your story, you may choose to share it, but such disclosure is not required.

The Foundation asks applicants to provide only the information reasonably necessary to review and administer the scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

Awards generally range from $1,000 to $2,500 per recipient. The number and amounts of scholarships awarded in each application cycle depend on available Foundation funding.
